David has just recently joined our team after being the Finance Director of Birmingham Specialist Community Trust. David, a CIPFA qualified accountant who graduated at Bath University, has diverse experience of NHS finance within the Midlands and beyond. After a successful spell as Deputy Director of Finance at Bromsgrove & Redditch Health Authority, David took the post as Unit Finance Director of Dudley Group of Hospitals, then Northern Birmingham Community NHS Trust and then more recently Birmingham Specialist Community NHS Trust.
David played a key role in the merger of Northern & Southern Birmingham Community Trusts achieving significant savings and ensuring financial stability. David has significant experience of developing substantial cost improvement programmes, agreeing numerous service agreements and budgets and business cases. In addition he developed a five year financial strategy for the new Trust that involved negotiating and transferring services to the new Primary Care Trusts (PCT's).
